Atherstone’s Ball Truckin celebrates win for racing team

We’re proud to announce that Ball Truckin has celebrated a dumper year of racing with a championship win.

As a motorsport logistics specialist who sponsors racing drivers Connor O’Brien and Jeff Smith, we celebrated along with the team as they came first in the S-Class championship. The final round of the season took place at Thruxton race circuit and featured a number of podiums for the team.

Despite COVID-19 restrictions, teams competing in the racing this year have been able to continue with their championship ambitions thanks to enhanced social distancing measures.

Both drivers have been battling it out in their Rover Classic Minis. Connor, taking to the podium in the S-Class championship running a 1275cc engine and Jeff in the Mini Seven Championship running a 1000cc engine.

Talking about the win driver Connor O’Brien said: “I am thrilled with the brilliant 2020 racing season Jeff Smith and I have had, winning our respective championships at Thruxton racing circuit this last weekend. It has been a huge team effort with the effects of COVID-19 this year but nevertheless we have still pushed hard all year to achieve the results we were aiming for!

“It's crazy how quick we’ve had to adapt for the racing work with timetables changing and our team having to work so hard, it's made our achievements feel ever so more rewarding and we are all extremely proud of what we have achieved. Massive thank you to everyone that is involved and the biggest of thank yous to Ball Truckin for making all of this dream become a reality.

“Having such a great sponsor in motorsport is so helpful and what makes it all so much better is that they are also family as well! With Alan Ball, Director of Ball Truckin, being my uncle, it brings all of the family together to get involved in motorsport and everyone does their bit to help out! It really does make every weekend we do so enjoyable and I am grateful to be in such a position. Cannot wait for the 2021 season and hopefully get back to normal times soon!"
